The Second Year Push: Red Bull KTM Eye 2018 MotoGP Success
About to enter its sophomore year of MotoGP racing, the Red Bull KTM MotoGP team is ready to take on the stiffest, best-of-the-best competition the world has to offer. With less than one second separating 1st-15th positions, the Austrian brand certainly has their work cut out for them, but Pol Espargaro and Bradley Smith are aiming to crack the top 10 or better this weekend in Qatar. March 12, 2018 – Almost twelve months ago at the desert-set racetrack KTM began their MotoGP adventure with Pol Espargaro finishing 16th and Bradley Smith taking 17th place. At the second round in Argentina both riders were in the points with their brand new RC16s. By the end of the term a total of seven top-ten classifications had been toasted with test rider Mika Kallio also breaking into the top section of the leaderboard. It was a year of rapid progress and accomplishment. As the second season readies for launch Red Bull KTM are prepped to reset and push onto the next level. 27 year old Smith is fully charged after a winter period free of injury, Kallio has completed yet more valuable mileage and 26 year old Espargaro is almost back to full health after the testing accident at Sepang, Malaysia that limited his bike-time at the three official test sessions.
With the latest configuration of the KTM RC16 fettled and READY TO RACE the operation, led by Mike Leitner, is also primed to tussle for points and prizes once more in the elite of motorcyc...
