It?s just been confirmed that Suzuki MotoGP rider Alex Rins will miss the Catalan MotoGP following a cycling crash. The Spaniard will have surgery on his fractured radius on Friday morning and will not be fit to race at the weekend. There?s no further information yet regarding the seriousness of Rins? injuries. Suzuki have confirmed that there?ll be no replacement rider at the upcoming GP.

Over the past month or so, ?Alex Bins? has grown accustomed to the taste of tarmac. I’m starting to lose count of how many times I’ve seen Rins crash. He?s crashed out of the last four MotoGP races, so you could say he?s making rather a habit of it. I doubt his bosses at Suzuki will appreciate his recent run of crashes, and they?re certainly not going to see the funny side of this latest whoopsie. GP riders get paid a mucho dinero to keep their bodies in tip-top shape; and breaking your arm is doing the exact opposite, isn?t it"
Old Rinsy is on one of the best bikes on the grid. He?s got a factory ride and a championship winning package. His recent performance simply isn?t good enough. In fact I fear this latest revelation might just be the final nail in his coffin. I don?t know what his contract situation with Suzuki is like, but just this week we?ve heard other teams announcing their 2022 riders (KTM, Pramac); so you?d have to say Alex?s latest blunder couldn?t have come at a worse time.
