When MV Agusta email a press pack through for a new bike, I?m always more excited to see the pictures than read the words. Because I?ve learnt from experience that the pictures are usually more exciting. And the latest presser to drop into the 44teeth.com inbox is no exception. It was, of course, the press release for the limited edition MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Nürburgring.
Now, I?m not usually one to get too hard over what a bike looks like, because in all fairness, these days a lot of bikes look a little bit similar. But this one doesn?t. I mean, just look at it? I?ll be honest, I?m struggling to stop looking at it!
I?m guessing all MV want us to do is talk about how beautiful this bike is, because there weren?t a lot of technical details in the media bumf they sent out. Loads of pictures, but not many words. The 400 words worth of badly translated marketing literature talks mainly about MV Agusta?s partnership with the Nürburgring racetrack, and how the Nürburgring is the final frontier.
Eventually it does go into what sets this limited edition Brutale apart from the standard one. It says the main priority was weight reduction. The MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Nürburgring weighs 183kg (3kg lighter than the Brutale 1000 RR), mainly thanks to the new ?latest generation? carbon rims. It also has new lighter and more rigid billet hubs.
