Livio Suppo Steps Down as Repsol Honda MotoGP Team Principal
A day after Marc Marquez won the 2017 MotoGP championship to give Honda Racing Corporation the triple crown of rider, team and manufacturer titles, Repsol Honda Team Principal Livio Suppo announced he is stepping down to pursue new opportunities.
Suppo, 53, joined the HRC as marketing director in 2010, adding the role of communications director in 2011. In 2013, Suppo was named team principal, overseeing the team each racing weekend, working with riders Marquez and Dani Pedrosa.
Before joining HRC, Suppo was project leader for Ducati‘s MotoGP team from 2003-2009, working with riders Loris Capirossi, Troy Bayliss, Carlos Checa, Sete Gibernau, Casey Stoner, Marco Melandri and Nicky Hayden.
In all, Suppo played a role in riders winning six MotoGP titles, five with Honda (including four won by Marquez and one by Stoner) as well as Stoner’s 2007 title with Ducati. Begin Press Release:

Livio Suppo joined HRC in 2010, as Communications and Marketing Director. From 2013 he assumed a dual-role as Team Principal of the Repsol Honda Team and HRC Communications and Marketing Director, giving a precious contribution in marketing, plus team and rider management.
