2022 Honda Grom | First Look Review

Since its launch in 2014, the loveable Honda Grom has maneuvered its way into the hearts and garages of over 750,000 riders and popularized Big Red’s miniMoto line, which includes the Monkey, Super Cub C125 and Trail 125. Presented as an early model-year release in the United States, the 2022 Honda Grom is boasting some serious updates, with a new 124cc engine, a 5-speed gearbox and a whole new look ? but the price still starts at an affordable $3,399.
Straight out of the gate, it’s easy to tell that Honda’s design team had a field day redesigning the Grom, which now has cleaner lines and a more conventional appearance. The Grom is a hotbed for customization, and Honda designers have answered that call with six large bolts to pop the side panels and tank covers off, letting owners work on their mini-steeds quickly. All-around LED lighting is standard, and the updated Grom rolls on 12-inch wheels with a fresh five-spoke design.

A flatter and marginally shorter 30-inch tall seat replaces precious Grom’s stepped seat, allowing better movement in the saddle. Ditching the bi-level seat necessitated a new subframe, but the steel frame is retained. Meanwhile, the fuel tank has grown from 1.45 gallons to 1.59 gallons.
