2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCA
Triumph?s Tiger 3-cylinder adventure-bike lineup has been significantly refined and enhanced for 2018, starting with a claimed 22-pound weight loss for the Tiger 1200s, which no longer wear the Explorer moniker. Tiger 800 triples are said to make more responsive power and have a new, shorter ratio first gear for more off-road worthiness. As before both displacements are offered in on-road-oriented XR versions with cast wheels and XC models with spoked rims; the Tiger 800 XR models and all Tiger 1200s have 19-/17-inch wheel combos and Tiger 800 XC models have a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear. Triumph also offers different equipment levels for each XR and XC for a total of 459 models?just kidding, it?s really 12 models: XR, XRx, XRx Low Ride Height (LHR), XRT, XCx and XCA. For 2018 the 800cc triple has been mass optimized for more immediate power delivery and a peak power output of 96 horsepower. It also has a lighter exhaust system with a sportier sound. XC models get a new Off-Road Pro riding mode for advanced riders.
