2018 Isle of Man TT: Pokerstars Senior TT Results
Dean Harrison led the 2018 Senior TT for five and a half laps until Peter Hickman laid down a record time of 16:42.778 on the final lap to steal the victory by just two seconds. Hickman’s final lap made him the first person to average faster than 135 mph on a single lap of the Isle of Man’s Mountain Course. His overall pace of 131.700 mph over the full six laps also set a new record for the Senior TT.
The outright single-lap record was actually broken several times by both Hickman and Harrison. In fact, both their final lap times were faster than the previous record, with Hickman’s ultimate run averaging 135.452 mph being the difference maker.
Third place went to Conor Cummins with Michael Dunlop sliding in fourth. That was enough for Dunlop to give him 94 points on the week and secure the Joey Dunlop TT championship. Hickman was second with 86 points followed by Harrison at 81 points. PACEMAKER, BELFAST, 8/6/2018: Peter Hickman (Smiths Racing BMW) at Kirk Michael during the Senior TT at TT2018. The race was not without incident however, with Swedish rider Bjorn Gunnarson getting in an accident at Glen Tramman. Gunnarson was taken to hospital but the injuries are not expected to be serious. Four other riders crashed during the Senior TT but all were reported as unhurt.
