Ian Hutchinson won his second race of the week, taking the Superstock TT during the 2017 Isle of Man TT. The win was Hutchinson’s third-consecutive Superstock TT victory as well as his 16th overall in TT history. Hutchinson finished the four-lap race in a time of 1:09:59.261, falling just 12 seconds behind the Superstock lap record he set last year.
Michael Rutter took the early lead through Glen Helen on the opening lap, with Hutchinson and Peter Hickman not far off the pace. Hutchinson took over the lead shortly afterward, opening a 1.3 second lead over Rutter by the Ramsey Hairpin.

The lead grew to 4.5 seconds after the first lap with Hickman passing Rutter for second. The gap grew to 6.7 seconds after the second lap before the riders headed to the pit. Hutchinson swapped a rear wheel in the pit but still managed to hold the lead, doubling the advantage to 13.6 seconds through Glen Helen on Lap 3. Meanwhile, Manx native Dan Kneen had moved up into third, bumping Rutter to fourth.
As they entered the final lap, Hutchinson held a 12.4 second lead over Hickman while Kneen had opened an 11 second gap over Rutter.
Hutchinson then laid down a race-best lap, averaging 131.639 mph on the final tour of the Mountain Course to handily take the victory. Hickman finished second ahead of Kneen, putting three S1000RRs on the podium (with another BMW in fourth thanks to Rutter).
