Eli Tomac Wins Second Consecutive Monster Energy Supercross in Glendale
Eli Tomac is working his way back up the point standings after now winning two rounds in a row, however he only sits in 10th place overall, 36 points shy of Jason Anderson who’s got the red plate. But the bigger story in Glendale, AZ this weekend was Justin Barcia, who took second place in the race as well as second place in the overall points standings. This is big news because Barcia was initially only hired to be a fill-in rider for Davi Millsaps on Monster Energy/Knich/Yamaha Factory Racing. Now that he’s a main championship contender, Barcia is certainly earning his keep. Ken Roczen also found himself on the podium a second time after four rounds of racing.
In the 250SX class, Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger took the win and the red plate back from Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki?s Joey Savatgy and Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Shane McElrath, who shared the points lead coming into round four. Things continue to get shaken up during this year’s Monster Energy AMA Supercross season. We’re looking forward to see what happens in Oakland next.
