Boothy?s TT Log | Day 1 ? Arrivals
It?s finally here. The 2022 Isle of Man TT. But you probably already know that, unless you?ve been living under a log for the last few months.
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and I tell you what, they?re not wrong. It?s been nearly three years since I raced round this place, and I can?t wait to have another crack at the whip.
I?ve brought the same two bikes with me as I had in 2019, so that?s my trusty old Kawasaki ZX-10R and my mate Mish?s Triumph Daytona 675 (he bought it a few years ago to do trackdays on, but left it in my workshop so it?s ended up doing a few Supersport TT races).
We travelled over here today on the slow-boat from Heysham, found a parking spot in the paddock and get everything set up. Both bikes, despite being the same as 2019, are both sporting some very sexy new colours which I?m super excited to share with you all, but we only picked the ZX-10R up this morning and the main sponsors haven?t seen it yet, so we just need to make sure they?re happy with it before we go nuts! But watch this space.
We?ve got a day of briefings, singing-on, clothing checks and that type of thing tomorrow (Saturday), and then the action starts in earnest on Sunday. With the Kawasaki and the Triumph, I can race in the Superbike, Superstock, Supersport and Senior races, so with a bit of luck, and with decent weather in practice week, I ought to get a fair bit of time on the bike.
